Another post I found in my drafts... loved re-reading this!


I've had perma-grin for most of the day. This particular Sunday is a day I truly will never forget.

Today, we found out we are expecting our second child!!

The day started out normally, just figuring out the logistics of where were we were going to church today since I had a wedding on Magazine to attend so we opted for church in Havana with Ryan's dad. While getting ready I told Ryan we needed to stop and get a pregnancy test to "feed my addiction." Hello, my name is Sarah, and I take monthly pregnancy tests. He kinda of laughed at me, but I told him I was serious that I took a test every month since we had started trying. It helped me ease the anticipation I guess. We stopped by Wal-Mart in Dardanelle and then stopped by mom and dad's on the way so I could "use the bathroom." This wasn't the first time I had done this so I'm sure my parents thought nothing of it. When I took the test I immediately saw the postitive sign and I immediately teared up and thanked God for this blessing. I rushed to the car with the test in my purse and we said bye to my parents. Ryan had hung out in the car with the baby and mom and dad came outside to see him. As soon as we said bye and before we even got the windows started rolling up I shrieked, literally shrieked-- I'M PREGNANT! Ryan didn't believe me so I whipped out my test and proved it to him. We weren't seconds from the house and Ryan asked if we should tell our parents today. I, of course,was going to bust at the seams so we turned around and pulled into the drive. Dad was outside and mom was just about at the door so Ryan waved her out to the vehicle and as she was walking up I said that the real reason I came over was to take a test and it was positive! They were so excited!! I think in shock as well. Once we hugged and got our congratulations in we loaded up since we still had to make it to church. On the way we called Ryan's mom and told her. I think she was shocked as well. After church we had lunch and ended up telling Steve and Talina who were so excited too!

It's hard to believe that Ryan and I are going to be parents again. It's even more hard to believe that Wyatt is going to be a big brother!

I feel so blessed to have another little baby growing inside of me. I continue to thank God for choosing Ryan and I as his or her parents. 

So far, I don't feel any differently...just on cloud 9 as I've kept telling Ryan all day.

Girl!!

 

We are so very excited that we are having a daughter!

 

I have known from the beginning that I was having a girl. Ryan has felt the same way too. So much so that when we found out our boy name, Liam, was the number 1 name in 2012 weeks ago we didn't even give much consideration to what we would name a boy. That convinced.

 

We had a girl name, Nora Kate picked out. Two days  before finding out Ryan began to question if that's really what we wanted to name her. I think I wanted to punch him in the face! Ha! Our other favorite name was Claire Elizabeth.  Well, this morning my appointment was scheduled immediately after I was to drop Wyatt off at school and I had to know what the baby's name was as soon as we found out. Well, we put both names in a bowl and at breakfast Wyatt got to choose what we would name his sister. Again, that convinced.

He chose the first name and I immediately opened it. It was Nora Kate.

But then he picked up the other and it was Claire Elizabeth.

Since both were opened, I held one in each hand and asked Wyatt which name we should name his baby sister.

We are over the moon about having a boy and a girl! We are truly blessed getting to experience the best of both worlds!!

Fun with numbers- baby #2's debut!

We met our second little baby today!

Everything is going wonderfully! S/he is growing right on track measuring just 2 days ahead of what we were figuring. Due date is expected to be February 9!!

I have been kinda mum on the whole pregnancy posts because while I knew I was pregnant, I wanted to see the baby first. Now I can blow up my blog and do weekly bumpdates! Yay!

Until then, how about a little fun with numbers??

10- number of weeks I'm pregnant (officially tomorrow)

22- number of months between Wyatt and his sibling

7- number of weeks I started wearing my bella band (whhhaat??)

6- number of weeks I got out my Snoogle. Pregnancy pillows rock.

18- number of weeks I look pregnant

5- number of times I've thrown up this pregnancy

20- approximate number of days I've been sick. Kicked in at 6 weeks and hasn't stopped

2- number of months until we find out the gender

6- number of pounds I've gained already. (Whhaaat?) (For the record I weigh myself every morning and it says I've gain 4. I continue to go with that since the doctor and my scale were constistently 2 off last time)

9- number of pounds I expect this baby to be. However, a little 6 pounder sounds good even though I know I can push out an 8.13 bundle of love

4- number of bags of Baked Cheddar and Sour Cream Lays I've consumed. (See 4lb weight gain)

0- number of times I will eat Long John Silvers again

8- number of different foods I keep in my desk at work

That's all I can think of about now. I swear mommy brain + pregnancy brain is going to leave me virtually handicap...

Bump/Shades of Grey

First of all, thank you so much for the congratulations on our wonderful news!

I will be 7 weeks in just a couple days and let me tell you, morning sickness has set in full force. It is worse first thing in the morning and right before I go to bed. It comes and goes throughout the day and it is truly no fun at all. I gag every time I brush my teeth and I have that gross “mouth is watering because I’m about to vomit” that just lingers. I haven’t been much more tired this go around and I think it’s due to the fact that my body doesn’t have “time” to rest with a 14 month old. I’m hoping the morning sickness subsides very soon. I swear I already look 12 weeks pregnant. I’m not even kidding. If this is any indication how I will look after the 9 months is up I am a little terrified of how I am going to look. I just have to keep reminding myself that the end product is completely worth it.

Wow, right? They aren't kidding when they say you get bigger quicker. I usually look this big after I eat. In the second picture I had just ate a baked potato and salad. Crazy.

We’ve been busy lately and I’ve got to do some catch up posts hopefully tomorrow. Okay, I lied…we haven’t really been any busier since my last post: date night and Father’s Day is pretty much the extent of “busy.”

Confession: I’ve just become all consumed with Christian Grey. Yup, I one of those sleazy moms who reads “porn” as Ryan calls it. I started 50 Shades of Grey on Monday evening and finished last night. Yes, I have been reading for hours on end and no I am not the least bit ashamed of it. I am lucky to have a best friend that I can talk to about it. She too is all about some mommy porn apparently…as well as the rest of the world. Ha!

Wyatt's Annoucement

He’s been searching high and low (mostly low) looking for a baby brother or sister to play with:

Wyatt is going to be a big brother!!!

Sweet Baby Davis #2 is expected to arrive in early February. We covet any and all prayers for our growing baby!  Yay!!
