Well, I am 11 weeks into being a mother of 2 kids. While my first "Nitty Gritty" post shared how hard I thought being a mother of 2 under was this post is to declare that the clouds have parted, the birds are singing, and life seems to be easy again. Sure, it's busier and we are slightly more tired but overall life just seems normal again.
I think we have adjusted to life with two little people. Correction: I know we have adjusted to life with two little people.
And you know what?
It's fun! So, so much fun!
I (we) are feeling so lucky because Claire is being a little rockstar and consistently sleeping 8-10 hours at night! She even threw in a 12 hour stretch in there earlier this week! She goes to bed at 6:30-7 and while that seems way to early, that's what she prefers. It would be like pulling teeth to try and get her to stay up any earlier so we just go with it! We don't hear from her until sometime after 4...you just never really know when it's going to be...sometimes 4, sometimes 6, sometimes 7! This morning it was 5:30. I can totally work with this...especially because I have a good husband who gets up for this feeding.
My heart is so happy with what God has blessed me with. I love being a mom to two kids. I love how busy the days are. Claire has started showing us more and more of her personality and she is just the sweetest little thing. What's crazy to me is how much I wanted two boys. I wanted (I thought) to be a boys mom because little girls slightly terrified me. But, what I know now is that God knew exactly what my heart needed. I needed a little boy to steal my heart first and then for a little girl to come along with the promise of always being my little princess. My heart just grows bigger and bigger each day I get to be with them.
I started back to work Monday doing my part-time hours like I had before. I'm working Monday-Wednesday and it went well. I, of course, missed them so much, but it was good for me to be away from them. To get a "breather" if you will before jumping back into "full-time" mommy mode the remainder of the week. This is the best balance I believe and I feel so fortunate that I am able to do this.
So to all you mommies who are awaiting the second baby (or even planning a second) it is hard at first, but I promise you it does get easier day by day. Just push through, keep praying for sanity, and know that just like with the first, it all pays off in the end.

I confess...
I must confess…
…I’ve been missing my Nikon something terrible. Every time I want to take a real cute picture of Wyatt I want to slap myself in the face. Obviously I am not over this. Tomorrow Nikon will be receiving my camera and a few days after that I expect a horrifying email about how much it is going to cost. Be thinking of me.
…Every time I end up taking a picture of Wyatt I am deeply disturbed at how crappy it actually is. However, I am thankful I can at least still take pictures of the little guy, blurry or not.
…I am halfway through the last book of the Hunger Games series. I plan to finish by Wednesday. I feel like I don’t even know who my husband is.
…my kid wears me out. He is into everything! Thankfully I have Ryan’s help 100% so whenever I need a breather he is there to take over. If you only knew how thankful I am.
…I need to publicly apologize to Ryan. I forget why exactly, but he told me that he would like an apology. On my blog. Therefore, publicly. Bunney, I am sorry.
…That apology will get me nowhere and I will soon have to apologize again.
…That I could waste an entire day reading and not feel the least built guilty.
…I spent entirely too much money on sugar cookies for a game that I hardly even watched. I use to love football, but since having Wyatt, while I still love football I can’t find the time to really sit down and watch it. Oh, that’s right…I have a baby that needs playing with while said football game in on in the background. Or I let Mimi play to her heart’s content during the game while I read and the rest of the family watches.
…I am completely looking forward to our weeklong family vacation this summer.
…I can keep myself up all night planning Wyatt’s first birthday party.
…I dream about being Katniss. I’m completely pathetic, right? It’s not that I am that obsessed, but rather that is the last thing I read each night before bed.
…I’m sad I didn’t get any pictures of a shower from yesterday. Boo. Who am I without my camera?! Oh, a girl with no pictures. Duh.
And, here are my less than fabulous pictures.
Starting to feed himself:
Enjoying some sun!
Before going to hang out with a bunch a girls at a baby shower. Still looking cute though.

33 weeks...I think.
Shall I confess?
I don’t know how old my kid is…
By this, I am referring to the number of weeks. I can remember when someone would ask, “How old is he?” I could immediately pop off the number of weeks old my little man was. Now? Now I instantly question how many weeks it has actually been in my head… Now I simply say x amount of months (7 months, 7.5, almost 8). I’m not really certain when that transition happened, but it has me wondering now how long I will refer to my child’s age by months? Am I going to be be saying, “Oh, he’s 17 months old?” That seems awkward… However, I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there.
If I didn’t have my ticker at the top of my blog with the amount of weeks old Wyatt is I would surely be confused all the time. At least I can be accurate with the amount of months. With that said, I do remember that Wyatt was born on a Tuesday and I will continue to take a weekly picture of him up until he is one. I feel like the first year is so monumental, and that’s not to say that each Tuesday after his first birthday isn’t important, but I’ve got to stop somewhere, right? It’s either that or I keep taking pictures of little boy until he starts his senior year of high school…

I hate to admit it...
I feel like I have let the world down...
I love being a stay-at-home-mom. What I do not love is that fact that I got sucked into Jersey Shore whilst being that stay-at-home-mom. What? How did this happen? I. Don't. Have. A. Clue.
Ryan and I never watched the show. Well, let me clarify. We turned it on once to see what all the hype was about and then realized that every other word was bleeped out and it quickly got changed. I think it was when I was pregnant and things easily irritated me. Yes, that had to be it.
Yesterday, the house was clean, the dishes washed, and baby boy was asleep. I plopped down to watch some daytime television and landed on True Hollywood Story: Snooki. As soon as I turned it on, it shows a community college that she attended. I was instantly hooked, because really...she had enough brains to attempt college, she couldn't be that dumb, right? Um, wrong. I continued to watch her story. I know it was being aired since the season premiere was the night, but I couldn't turn it away. I got hooked. Crap! When THS was over I immediately turned it to MTV where the last seasn was being played up until the new season began. My tv never left MTV until we turned it off to go to bed. I am ashamed to admit that Jersey Shore is now on our DVR lists. (We need a Thursday night show.)
I took pride on not knowing what GTL meant when I would see my newsfeed on Facebook peppered with references. For the record, I found out what it meant and even had to share with Ryan who also didn't know. I learned what smoosh meant as well. I kind of feel like we had been living under a rock. A big, beautiful rock that didn't cause me to lose brain cells.
We are pretty much embarrassed at the fact that we watched it don't get me wrong...but there's just something about trainwrecks right? You just can't turn your head away from them. I secretely wanted to burst out laughing about 3 times during that hour, but I kept it together not wanting to appear that I was that into it.
I guess there are worse things that I could be embarrassed about. For now though, I'll just stick to the trash tv that I am watching. Sigh.
