Fun in the "big ploo"

We took Wyatt to a water park and the boy had the best time!! He loves to swim in Pawpaw's ploo, so that he would know the difference of where we were going we referred to it as the "big ploo." That is all he talked about on the way up there. We met friends and ended up having a great day! I'm ready to go back!

They do a mandatory break at 2 and 4 and this was at the 2 o'clock break. It took a little explaining to the boy why we were getting out. By explaining I mean he had to have a popsicle.

We were there for 3 hours and about 2 minutes down the road Wyatt was out. We got home and laid him down for a little longer and when we woke him up about 6 he was still so exhausted. He even took a little break on the couch.

Summer Fun

June is quickly coming to an end and I feel like we have been going non-stop!

Claire is becoming SO much fun and interacting a lot with big brother! She is also getting big enough now that she can stop living in onesies and we have started putting her in outfits!

It amazes me how many clothes she has. I've started washing them and stacking them in the closet in a "worn" pile so that I know she will wear every outfit at least once. Ha!
Wyatt just insisted that sister "play" in the box with him.

Claire has yet to go swimming yet since her bedtime was so early. Now that she stays up a little longer she got to actually enjoy the pool with us a few days ago!

Ryan's not very big on swimming so this was the first time he got in the pool this year too. Wyatt was pretty stoked. We decided to let him jump on the diving board and thought we would have to do a  little encouraging but he bailed off there before I could have even tried to stop him. He did about ten times in a row and was so worn out. We've about decided to run over to mom and dad's every evening just so that Wyatt will go to bed by 8:30 again.

Don't you just love Ryan's face?

Wyatt's 2nd Birthday Party

This morning we had Wyatt's second birthday party.

I actually should have titled this "Cupcake Catastrophe" because that's exactly what it almost was.

I was supposed to pick up cupcakes from a local lady at 8:30. I sent Ryan to get them and by 8:45 after many attempted calls she finally answered her phone. I wasn't very pleasant I don't think, but I don't think I needed to be. I mean, I had paid her and we had made plans and believe it or not she totally forgot about my order of 3 dozen cupcakes...seriously. I was very unhappy and very stressed out. I mean I did have 15 kiddos who had to have cupcakes and the party was an hour away. AHHH!
After rejecting her offer of  a refund and a gift certificate she said she'd start making them right away and have them there a little after 10...and she did...and they were completely free...and they were still warm...and they were really good...and did I mention free...(but not worth the stress of it all). She had them there shortly after 10 and I was so very thankful. She was quite apologetic and I know it's human error, but lawd!

Anyway, Wyatt had a wonderful birthday party!! Lots of little friends showed up and they played HARD!

Tom E. Tiger was the perfect place to have his party!

DU Family Night

This week has been a somewhat lonely week for myself and Wyatt. Ryan had been working every night putting the finishing touches on the Arkansas River Valley Ducks Unlimited Family Night. It was the first time the chapter had put together a family oriented/kid friendly event and it turned out so good!

Ryan is the chairman this year so he was more stressed out than his normal just being on the committee. All of their hard work paid off because there was a great turn out and all the kids had a great time!

We are looking forward to the New Years banquet now...but not to being a single mom again!

Wyatt had fun too getting to run around, play baggo, picking ducks, and shot gun shells for his Pawpaw. It started at 5:30 and by 8:30 my little man was dunzo. It didn't help that he wanted to do what HE wanted the entire time which was to spin the wheel of fortune type wheel. His Mimi so nicely brought him home to bathe him and put him to bed shortly after it was clear he was done. Dad and I stayed for the raffles- my favorite part! Dad won a DU framed picture, 2 boxes of skeet, a half gallon flask and mug, and a canteen. I won a bag, box of skeet, sign, 2 DVDs, and... 2 guns!
Seriously. I was so excited!! We almost didn't win either! Ryan handed me the bags with the raffle tickets when Wyatt and I got there and never even mentioned the tiraffle tickets that were in there and at the very end dad asked me which bags were his and I looked through them and we noticed my two bags still had all out raffles in them. Ryan should have told me!! It clearly would have been his fault and not mine if I hadnt put them in there in time.

It was a fun night with great food! I am looking forward to next year too when Wyatt will hopefully be big enough to stay and "win" for us!!

Think I could enter him in some baggo tournaments?

8 x 5

Last night we had dinner plans with the Veachs so we let Wyatt go spend the night with his Mimi and Pawpaw. After dinner Ryan and I decided to go have a couple of drinks with my friend Erin and a couple that Ryan works with. We went back home to change, but not before Ryan took himself a power nap. I truly am married to a 30 year old man.
I woke him up, we snapped a picture, and laughed hysterically at me saying, "Look how pretty I am!"
.
I just love us.

Well, thank goodness Ryan took that power nap because we didn't get home and in bed until 4:00. You read that right...4 o'clock in the morning. Whaaaat?

We headed to Front Street to enjoy the band and had a good time!
I got to hang out with my best friend Erin:

As well as Patrick and his wife Whitney:
It was a great night and we didn't leave there until after 1.

On the way out Erin and Ryan grabbed them a little snack and I have to admit their hotdogs were pretty good. Or at least the bite I had of Erin's was and Ryan claims he will be making a trip to buy another since the man has his little set up here in town during the week.

After these we set out to the 8 X 5.

Yes, the 40.

I should go ahead and explain to everyone the fine establishment that is nestled next to interstate 40 here in good ole Russellville. It is the type of establishment that you go to only when you have reached that point in your evening. The type of establishment that you know there is no turning back once you've made the decision to go.

It is disgusting, disgraceful, and I am pretty sure there is fur growing on the wall. (Correction: I know there is fur growing on the walls because one day many years ago I climbed up on the sink and picked some off the wall. It is still there to this day.)

It is loving called asbestos.

The funny thing about the forty is that is recently got remodeled. I am proud to say that we hadn't been there in over 2 years. Two beautiful years. It's a known fact that each evening spent there immediately takes off 3 years of your life. This "remodel" that we had heard about consisted, I think, of a change of paint color maybe and the remodel of the stage where the DJ awkwardly sat. Nonetheless, the only reason we went was because I wanted to dance so bad I couldn't stand it. And the hubs was more than willing. Shocking!

I danced for 3 hours straight and it was the best time EVER. Luckily, some of Ryan's old friends were there to so he got to catch up, hold my purse, and mine and Erin's drinks while we danced out butts off.

Ahh, it was so fun! We didn't get home until 3:30 and we immediately jumped in the shower because if we hadn't we'd have to burn the sheet that we slept on. It's that terrible.

You're missing out if you've never been to the 40 at least one. However, once you've been you will probably never want to go back.

Unless you are a dancing queen as I am and that's the only place to get your dance on around here. We are heading out tonight at 2:00 to enter the dance contest tonight to hopefully win again. (Yes, we have both won the dance contest there. No shame.) Wyatt is sleeping peacefully so I bet that he won't even miss us in the 30 minutes it takes us to go win.

Doesn't that sound fun?
