Cowboy baby

Go on and tell me you don't think this baby is the cutest thing eva!

I knew you couldn't do it.
Wyatt has such a tender little heart. He had to give his pony lovins.
Also, I like to start him out right...in the kitchen...helping momma put away the dishes.

Okay so maybe the whole putting away dishes wasn't very fun because he high-tailed it to his room.

Oh who am I kidding. I haven't cooked all month I don't think. I am absolutely "ashamed." Somehow we have lucked out into people cooking for us or going out to eat.  Ryan would argue that "lucking out on someone cooking for us" is not the equivalent to calling up my mother and asking what's for supper. I seriously think I have cooked 10 times this month and that is truly pushing it. I get an F in the cooking department and honestly I have no shame. (Shh!) In my mind it's summer and I hate cooking in the summer. It's hot. It makes my kitchen hot. And I despise being hot in the house. I am doomed for the summer. Maybe I can stretch the no cooking streak until September? Would that be acceptable or no? I guess I'm not in the market for a separation so I guess I better get cooking. Starting tomorrow. June 1 sounds like a good day to start. I guess my fruit suppers (read goldfish and Sunchips) are coming to an end. I'm putting on a despicable amount of weight thanks to eating out PMS bloat and cravings. Going to straighten up, but like I've said...starting tomorrow. We're taking Wyatt to his first rodeo in Ft. Smith tonight and naturally I cannot cook supper on the road.

Giddy up!

The Outhouse

We got this little tent for Wyatt for his birthday and he pretty much loves it.
See:
Well, this morning Wyatt woke up a little after 7:30 so he was running around while we got ready. Ryan was in the shower, I was getting ready and suddenly the house got quiet. As a mother,  you immediately know that once the house goes quiet something is definitely up. A few minutes later I heard a little giggle so I decided to go see what the boy was up to. I poked my head in our bedroom, then our bathroom, and then Wyatt's room. No sign of him. When I turned around to leave his room I heard another little giggle coming from his tent.
I barely opened the flap and there he was just a smiling and happy. It was the cutest thing ever. Almost like he was playing hide-n-seek. But then, suddenly I smelled the stinky that he had lovingly filled his diaper with.
I guess he was using the tent as an outhouse and needed some privacy. The above picture cracks me up...I wish I had taken a little extra time to focus on him and not Marley.
He is everywhere. Everywhere.

Today we went to go fill up my vehicle and while Ryan was switching the carseat from vehicle to vehicle I noticed Wyatt was dragging everything out of his diaper bag on the floor. No big deal...so long as it is keeping him occupied I didn't mind. It wasn't until I heard some crunchy and found this:
We truly have a little piggy living in our house. That is an unopened package of graham crackers and, mind you, Wyatt just had dinner but I guess he was still hungry...so hungry he chewed a hole in the package. Oh dear. Do other babies eat as much as mine?

Feeding a 10.5 month old

It is no surprise that Ryan and I have a baby that likes to eat. Actually, like is an understatement. Homeboy loves to eat. Anything actually. He has started to snub his nose at the pureed baby food here past couple of weeks. We went on our weekly shopping trip together the only "baby" food item was his little pouches.

Being a first time mom I was a little confused at to what to be feeding my almost 11 month old child. It's tricky. You have to decided what is good for them and how much.

Tricky isn't quite the word for it either. I was slightly stressed at first, but now am I definitely in the rhythm I believe.

Here's what Wyatt's diet consists of....
For breakfast he has formula and Cheerios. He also has blueberry muffins, pancakes, biscuits, blueberry Eggos, and mixed berry nutrigrain bars sometime during the morninig. His second cup of formula he has oatmeal and fruit yogurt. We feed him an afternoon snack of Sargentos Cheddar and Mozzerrela cheesesticks with Club crackers, Whole Grain Goldfish, or something else. His third sit down meal is a fresh fruit- apple, banana, strawberry, kiwi, avacados, mandarin oranges, etc. with another cup of formula.

For dinner, regardless of what we are eating I always throw some of these frozen veggies-sweet potatoes, potatoes, green beans, corn, peas, black eyed peas, etc. on the stove and cook for him. Depending on the meat we are having, we cut it up for him, but he likes everything. For his dessert at dinner he gets more yogurt. He ends the day with another bottle.

Of course, all of the foods, if not bite size already, we cut up and he is a great little picker upper of food.

Those pouches are so great on the go, when fruit and veggies won't be readily available. Also, Wednesday I discovered Chick-Fil-A's kid meal with grilled chicken nuggets. Awesome! I get that for him and eat the french fries. Wyatt apparently doesn't like french fries either. Whhhaaat? I know, but I am very thankful for it.

I think that is the gist of what we feed him. I know that we are setting examples so I'm happy to say that a lot of the "junk" we have always bought is beginning to dwindle. The sweetest thing in our house is probably pudding cups and jello. And, we have started eating a ton more veggies so yay for us!

Any more suggestions?
