This is our life...it's crazy, it's hectic, but most of all it's fun!

Farewell to 2011

If you're anything like me you are wondering how it is humanly possible to be hours away from kissing 2011 goodbye and welcoming 2012 with open arms.

Every year life seems to get better and better...
2008 I met Ryan.
2009 I got engaged to Ryan.
2010 I married Ryan.
2011 I welcomed our first child, Wyatt.

I have no idea what 2012 has in store for us...What I do know is that we will be celebrating 2 years of marriage and a first birthday of one handsome little boy.

But, before all that, I'd like to take a trip down memory lane to remember some highlights from this year...
In January we went on a little duck hunt.
February we had a big snow and actually got stuck in the ditch...that was a lot of fun being 7 months pregnant.
March we celebrated one year of marriage and spent the day hiking on Petit Jean.
In April we received the best gift ever. Wyatt Hudson Davis entered our lives and our lives were forever changed.
May is when we began to get some real smiles from him.
In June Wyatt experienced his first (of many) fishing trips.
July we spent our first night away from Wyatt.
In August we were big enough to start using our high chair.
In September Bunney turned the big 3-0.
October we got to visit our first pumpkin patch!
In November Ryan killed a buck and all was well in the world.

In December we celebrated Wyatt's first Christmas and we can't even describe how much fun it was!

Life goes by so much faster the older you get.  Add a child to that and it begins to fly by at wrap speed. I hope that 2012 creeps by because I want to enjoy and cherish this year. I hope that everyone has a very blessed 2012.

What baby?

There once was a time when I had a squishy, huggable, baby.

Where did he go?

Now, I have a big boy who is brave enough to stand up and let go just to scare us half to death. This is the "baby" that also got his second tooth yesterday... Two weeks after his first one and we had a "fussy" day if you even want to call it that. He was just a tad bit grumpy and we could tell that his gums were bothering him but it was very short lived and now we've got a mouth full of teeth!
Okay, so it's only 2 but it seems like so many! I love how cute his little smile is. Wyatt is pulling up on everything and standing the majority of the day. Seriously, that's all he wants to do is crawl to something and pull up on it. He has successfully learned how to sit back down (thank goodness) so now we don't have him getting mad and "screaming" at us.

While he isn't so much a "baby" anymore, the days just seem to get more and more fun. How is it possible that my little man is nearly 9 months old? At this rate he is going to be 18 and heading off to college just to forget about poor ole mom. Sigh...this is life I guess. I've just got to cherish my sweet little boy while I can because in a blink he truly won't be a baby. Tear.

Moment of Silence

This happened today...
Yes, it requires a moment of silence.

Poor, poor Nikon.
Poor, poor Sarah.
Poor, poor checking account.

Luckily, I have a great husband who told me he was surprised it took this long.

Did I say lucky? I meant poor poor Sarah.

My Nikon D3100 is dead. Dead I tell you.

Okay, so maybe not dead, but the lens is totally jacked up. Dunzo. Like broke in half. I pretty much cussed myself up and down twice when this fell out of a bag I had picked up. Serioulsy. I suck at life.

Ugh.........

How can this be?! This is what happens when you spend an obscene amount of money on a camera  when you are known to go through about 3 point and shoots a year. True story.

I just remembered why I am lucky to have Ryan as a husband...

He gave me the green light to go ahead and just order a new lens...a better one.

Yessss!

Poor, poor checking account...

Introducing Payton Reese

My best friend Haley went in to labor on Christmas.

Seriously.

While at mom's I got the text that she was in labor and would end up having to have a C-Section so Payton would for sure be a Christmas baby. This was 3 days after having dinner with Haley and the girls and her saying she didn't want her to come on Christmas. Payton, on the day she was born showed her mom who was boss. Ha!

Around 8:40 Payton Reese Townsend made her debut weighing 7 lbs, 5 oz and was 20 inches long!

We headed up to the hospital this morning where we just fell in love with her.
There is nothing sweeter than a newborn baby. Nothing.
Haley looks great for just having a baby! I am so, so proud of her and Jay!!
So sweet isn't she?
I cannot wait for her and Wyatt to be the best of buddies!

Haley I know that you and Jay are going to be the best of parents to little Payton! You know if you EVER need any help to pick up the phone and call!! Love you guys and that perfect baby girl!

Christmas Night at Mimi & Pawpaw's

Christmas evening was spent at my parent's.
Wyatt got his first taste of "real" ham. Wouldn't you know he took a chunk of a bite. He is going to be a foodie just like his momma!
You didn't think we forgot about our little boy Marley did you? Santa even came to visit him and brought him lots of new babies!
The cutest thing Wyatt got was his little overalls. AGH...LOVE!
His Razorback pillow pet from Mimi and Pawpaw. He was getting so sleepy since he hadn't slept hardly at all that day.
We've had such a long day...we are definitely tired looking.
Him loves his Mimi!
And Uncle Jason.
Here is all of mom's children!
After we opened presents, put the baby to bed, we ended up playing Battle of the Sexes. Me, mom, and Misty ended up losing to the guys because apparently the girl questions were a million times easier. Pssh. Whatever. I did learn that my husband pays a lot more attention to celebrity gossip than I thought. I'm not sure whether to be concerned or happy. What do you think?!

This was such a great first Christmas with Wyatt. Next year we will have to do a little bit of tweaking. Hopefully we can do Christmas Eve Eve at Poppa's, Christmas Eve at Nana's, and Christmas with Mimi and Pawpaw. Two houses on one day was just too much. Wyatt was a little too grumpy so he wasn't near as fun as he could have been with Mimi. I guess you just figure it out though.

I hope you all had a wonderful CHRISTmas and that God has blessed your family in every way possible!

Christmas at Poppa's

After opening presents and going to church we headed to Ryan's dad for Christmas there.

Wyatt got lots of fun presents but his favorite was his puppy.
For real, nothing else matter to that little guy.
Well, except for maybe this horsey.
So, so funny to watch him play on that. I have a feeling there will be a lot of tumbles because of it!

Christmas Morning

Remember when you were a kid and you couldn't wait until the morning of Christmas so you could see all the awesome things that Santa had delivered to you during the night?

I do too.

When you are a parent, that excitement multiplies.

I had absolutely no idea how much "Santa" would mean to me as an adult...and I only have an 8 month old who clearly does not get "excited" about much.

Ryan and I stayed up late assembling the water table we have had for months. We already had his walker ready to go so we (Ryan) put it together and set it all up.
Santa even left a note for Wyatt!
How fun will this be each year to do?! Again with starting traditions!

He LOVED his pirate ship. Ryan was skeptical about the water table, but I assured him it would be a hit and it was...even without water! Ha!
Look at that sweet little smile. He definitely approves!

So...I got an apron. Cute right? I shall be doing lots and lots of cooking in it. That's the plan anyway.
I'm very negligent and didn't get any pictures of daddy with his gifts. How lame am I? A lot. He loved all his gifts as did I. My running "wish" list of a dozen items now only has 3 items left. My entire family did very good!

Wyatt was super curious about daddy's cereal bowl. Before I know it the two will be sitting together having cereal together.
So sweet.

This was last night after all of Wyatt's Christmases were over.
Safe to say he made out like a bandit! It will be so fun to see what all he got each year!

Christmas Eve at Nana's

This is the first of many posts about our Christmas...

Saturday, we headed to Ryan's mom's about 11. I made vanilla covered pretzels to bring since we were having a non-tradional meal...taco soup, finger foods, and desserts. Everything was so yummy and we were miserable by the time we left.
Here is our tree on Christmas Eve.
We had a little photo shoot while waiting to get ready. I think Wyatt looks so much like me here. LOVE it.

And I caught a picture of his little tooth. It's blurry, but I see it plain as day. What's even more crazy is that today we noticed that when his smiles at you there is no denying it's there. I really thought I would miss that gummy grin and I sort of do. But holy smokes that little glimmer of a tooth is the best.
Here Wyatt had made himself a little pillow. I'd laid him down for his nap and went to check on him and found him like this. He had balled up his blanket into a pillow. He melts my heart about 10 times a day.
With his Nana...
First tast of peppermint. Homeboy seriously got MAD when we took it away.
Wyatt's first Christmas present!!
Wyatt could honestly care less about opening presents. Even once they were open he didn't care too much about them. He is such a busy body and has to be on the go all the time that it's just whatever to him.

Aunt Kylie loves to play dress up with him.
Family picture on Christmas Eve 2011.
Getting ready to put little man to bed so Santa could come and visit.
Insert AWWWW here.
One of my favorite things about having a baby is all the traditions we get to start. We bought The Night Before Christmas and read it, obviously. Wyatt, again, could care less, but at least we did it and years from now when we are still reading the story we can always say we did it since his first Christmas.
See those cute little sporty jammies? They're super cute, but NOT the jammies I wanted him wearing for Christmas morning. Anal? Yes. He had cute Christmasy jammies that he decided to piss all over just to spite me. That's what kids do, right? That's what I've been told at least. However, I thought it came later. Like, teenage years. Ha! Okay, I know his didn't do it to spite me but it sure felt like it...it wouldn't matter anyway...he spit up a little on his sheets and jammies anyway so he got put in an entirely different pair. This is what happens when I plan stuff.

Me and my sweet baby waiting for daddy to start reading.
Ahhh, Christmas is so much more fun with a baby!!
