3 year old cool

Wyatt's three. He is a super cool, super rad, super sweet, super particular lover of laundry and he holds a special place in my heart.

THESE are the days the every mother talks about. The days you never want to forget. The days that you would give your right arm for. The days every parent wishes they could get back even if it were for a minute. The days when a simple question asked for the 67th times has you wanting to pull your hair out. The days when no matter how much you think you love them, something completely out of the blue has your heart bursting into a million pieces.

Wyatt's three.

The age that seemed so far away, yet here we are.

The age where potty training is something you both look forward to and dread.

Wyatt's three. The age where I see his personality shining and I can't help but be anything but proud.

I absolutely love his age right now. We can carry full conversations about the most mundane things, but they're things that mean the world to him. I love the random I love yous. The "I always love you mommy" I get in return when I whisper I love you to him. When he yearns for approval. The, "do you like it?" I get when he makes something for us. The "what we got tomorrow?" that he so desperately asks each day because he has to know what's ahead of him. The way daddy will be home in "4 more minutes" or the "just one more time and dats it" when he wants another sip of his daddy's Dr. Pepper. The "am I not listening?" when I'm having to repeat myself telling him to get in his car seat.

Wyatt's three. He is his daddy's shadow and there isn't anything he wouldn't do for him. He refuses to wear a shirt to bed because that's how daddy sleeps.
He mimics everything his daddy does. He wants to be just like him and lives for the minute that Ryan walks through the door.

My baby is three.

He is a lover of chocolate milk and laundry. Popcorn before bed and goldfish with cherries and berries fruit snacks. Green undies over blue undies. Daddy's hugs over mommy's kisses. He loves his Sissy with a deep passion. He loves to use the "clicker" every day to open the garage. Driving from the cemetery to the house. Scout.

My baby is three. The boy who is still just a baby and I see it when he is tired. The boy who crawls up into our arms when he's scared and the boy who will forever be my baby.

Three is an awesome age. Three is when I truly realized for the first time that Wyatt Hudson was becoming a little boy. One heck of a cool dude.

Let me tell you about his best friend

Wyatt is a full blown daddy's boy. I mean, Ryan has to do everything with him. I pretty much get the evenings off because Ryan has to bathe and put him to bed. It's kinda nice! Haha!

He wants nothing more than to spend his days with be daddy. It is the sweetest thing. I hope that Wyatt always wants to be his best friend!

Wyattisms

After his shower, Ima go bye bye. Where ya going? Ima go see Lilly.

Hello! Hello! Waving at a car we passed with his window down.

Ima show Liliy  clothes in Lowes.
Wyatt running away...packed up a bag full of randomness and when I asked him who would feed him he very matter of fact replied Mimi.

Showder is what he insists he take every night.

He came running into the living room after his showder and exclaimed, "Daddy teetee in showder!" Busted.

Watching a football game...Uh oh. He fall. (Nearly every tumble.)

He has to make sure puppy rides with him. Ready for it to cool down so we can start getting it out some more!

Wyatt's funnies

1. In the middle of the night while camping out we hear a little "help peas" "daddy help!". I woke Ryan up to check on him and he was in a tizzy because his pillow had fallen off the bed.

2.  He is all about calling people. I often hear, "Ima call daddy back." Very matter of fact!

3. Mommy, put shirt ON! He is quite demanding when he catches me changing.

4.While pottying, "Ima need light on." The light right above him is not enough. He needs all the lights on to do his business.

5. He thinks he is too big for baths now, so now it's Ima take "showder"

6. He calls a bed "beer". Ima get momma beer. Haha, maybe he should go ahead and get mommy a beer.

7. While it's not really that funny at the time he has started to throw things out of anger as well as scream. It's comical that this little person has no idea how to fully handle the emotion.

Those are just a few. I am trying to keep up with them because they are just so precious!

Meeting his new home

Just for documentation sake, here is Wyatt meeting his new home.

He seemed a little lost and unsure, but he warmed up pretty quick!

Overworked

I guess we had worked Wyatt a little too hard in the whole moving process. He grabbed his blanket and a seat while we were in the middle of unpacking boxes.

Let's talk about Wyatt!

Wyatt is so fun at this age. Sure, he has his moments…not listening, telling us he doesn’t want to do something, repeating “Huh?” 1,000 times a day, throwing fits, asking “Wha dat?” more times than I can count, but overall he is such a joy. He has began to form little sentences and they are so precious. “Sissy up?” is typically the first thing he asked when he gets up. He also knows that when Sissy cries she is a. hungry and b. sleepy. Normally it’s sleepy, so when she starts crying he will either say “nap” or “nite nite” to her. I love it. He always asks to “play” which means you have to go outside…playing doesn’t mean inside at all. He is adjusting to his new house and no longers asks for “woom” (room) but he is still asking for “home.” He will get there. We have transitioned him to a toddler bed and so far so good! He has spent 3 night in it so far. The first night he didn’t go to bed until 10:30. He was just so unsure of it. The second night he went down easy, but snuck into our room about 3. He slept with us for about an hour and we took him back to bed where he stayed. Last night we put him to bed about 9 and at 10:30 he came into our room and said “Hi!” He got taken back to bed where we didn’t see him again until 7 this morning.

He likes to be independent and doesn’t want you helping a lot of the time. He hates when he can’t get shoes on by himself and has started to ask for “help” when he’s nearing the breaking point.

He has lots of chores…feeding “puppy” (Marley), feeding “Kiki” (Kitty cat/Bobby), clothes still, washing windows, “dishes”, and mom says he likes to vacuum.

He is getting so fast running around and like all two year old he is BUSY. Very, very busy.

We are doing really good at potty training! We are going through a lot less diapers!! Thank goodness! We’ve learned that as soon as he says “tee tee” you take him to the potty no matter what and about 85% of the time he is successful in the first attempt. You may take 3 or 4 trips, but eventually he will go. We are so proud of him for this!

It’s hard to believe he is as big as he is, but my goodness he is just so much fun!
