This is our life...it's crazy, it's hectic, but most of all it's fun!

2012 in review

The last day of the year. I'm still questiong how that is even possible.

I feel like just the other day I was getting ready for a night out with my love, ready to support the ducks.
And, here I am again, hustling to finish up my last past of the year in order to squeeze in a nap before I head out to support the ducks again!

2012 has been so good to us. With news of a second baby probably being the highlight of the year!
In January, we kicked off the new year with a bang.
Or I did.
That didn't last too long considering they grew at high rate and I wasn't okay with that.

In February we celebrated a month of love...for the Razorbacks. We took Wyatt to his first Hogs basketball game and it was a lot of fun! I think he enjoyed himself.
March brought on more love...we celebrated 2 years of marriage with a trout fishing trip. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad that we got to go.
In April my sweet little boy turned one! He had such a wonderful birthay. I am just so honored to be his mommy!

In May we took Wyatt to St. Louis for his first Major League Baseball game! He was such a good baby on this trip. We also visited the zoo. Ryan and I went on a float trip and this is the month that Claire was conceived. But not on the float trip. Ha!
We found out we were expecting another baby in June and it was such a joy. Our little boy started school and it was a little bit of an adjustment for me, but it has worked out perfectly!
In July we just  tried to survive the heat!

August was spent at the beach! Well, not the whole month, but it would have been nice! Wyatt was so adorable seeing the ocean for the first time.
September we took Wyatt to the fair...we celebrated Daddy's birthday.

October it was time for Halloween!

November we celebrated my birthday and baby Claire!

And here it is December...

Still so crazy that the year is over, that we are starting a new one, and all the new exciting things that the future holds for us.

We will be welcoming a new baby this year, our first born will be two, we will celebrate three years of marriage, and who knows what else. All I know is that it's going to be a wild ride!!

A White Christmas

Christmas morning Wyatt woke up at 5:30. Yes, 5:30. He's supposed to do this when he's like 6 isn't he? Don't all kids do that? I know me and Jason certainly did. Luckily, my parents never told us to go back to bed.

Since it was aleady 5:30, Ryan just put him in bed with us...he slept until 9:30. What? Didn't he know Santa  had came to visit him the night before?!
Ryan and I got up at 9 and so I made us some cinnamon rolls while we waited for our little man to wake up. Once he did he so sweetly came in to see what Santa brought him.
He was a busy little bee. He actually didn't open any other presents. I had to open the rest and he could have cared less. He was such a sweet little boy later that morning. He first crawled up in my lap and just sat with me and then got down and went and laid down with his daddy. It was so sweet.
The boys club.

A little after this we went to spend some time with Mimi and Pawpaw again. We knew that the weather was going to get "bad" so we stayed for just a few hours until it started to sleet and so we headed home. Not too long after that it started snowing! We put Wyatt down for a nap, watched a movie, and watched the snow fall.

Once he woke up from a nap we let Wyatt experience his first snow!

He was a little confused as to what it was, but I think he enjoyed it nonetheless. He kept saying "know" the whole time. I love how he can't really say his "S" and so it has been "know" and "Tanta."

Wyatt's second Christmas was so wonderful. I'm still a little shocked that it was actually a WHITE Christmas!!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Mimi and Pawpaw's house. Wyatt was so much fun this year!

We started out with Indian Tacos. We quickly tore through those and immediately went to the living room to open presents!
Wyatt of course got the first present and he took his sweet little time opening his presents.
Once he finally got his opened he was the designated present passer outer.
What was hilarious about it was that Wyatt gave every single present to Uncle Jason. He was literally throwing them to him. Luckily there wasn't any breakables in there!
Wyatt thought his presents were something you climb on and slide down.
He had us in stitches!

Mom got Claire a Violet (the girl equivalent to Scout). Turns out we shouldn't have opened it in front of Wyatt. I immediately had to take her out of the box so he could hold her and he wouldn't let her out of his sight. I tried numerous times to take her away but everytime Wyatt would panic anytime she was out of his sight. Finally, when he was pre-occupied I took her upstairs. Mimi had put her away until Claire gets here and can actually (hopefully) fall in love with her. However, I am pretty positive that Wyatt is going to put up a tough fight over her.
Family picture. Wyatt looks enthused, right?
Mimi got Wyatt ready for the snow!! He looks like a little Russian boxer.

We had such a fun Christmas with Mimi, Pawpaw, and Uncle Jason. Wyatt just seems to get more and more fun each year so I can only imagine next year with him!

Doomsday

Well, we survived the Mayan Apocalypse. I'm happy we did. I mean, my baby daddy was out of town when it was scheduled to happen and fireballs falling from the sky just wouldn't seem right without my love by my side.

Ryan left Thursday for a work hunting trip. Wyatt and I went to stay at my parents because 1. I wasn't cooking supper. 2. I hate staying alone. and 3. I wasn't cooking supper.

We had a good time at Mimi and Pawpaw's.
Wyatt was lucky enough to share a bed with me. I don't know why this seemed like a good idea at the time because it is evident that Wyatt is not a very good bed sharer. I can't blame him though. I get confused as to which way to lay in a bed sometime too. Let's just say I got lots of head butts and jabs throughout the night. I even felt the need to tell Ryan...

It surely felt like the end of the world being 33 weeks pregnant and being woke up every couple of hours and hearing Scout sing in ear nonstop. Wyatt is lucky I love him so much. We hung out there until noon, came home, napped, and then got around to go help my brother finish up shopping. What is it with men and waiting until the very last second to shop?? Oh wait. That's right. I haven't finished yet either... Moving on...

Last night I had dinner with my girls! Two hours of uninterrupted girl talk was just what I needed! I headed back to mom's afterward and was welcomed with some yummy Rice Krispy Treats. I'm telling you I have such an awesome mom. Wyatt did much better the second night sharing a bed with me. By better, I mean Scout kept quite and Wyatt actually kept his head near the top of the bed and his feet toward the bottom. We woke up and I made everyone pecan pancakes before heading back to bed for a couple hours. We came home about noon again and waited for Daddy's arrival. He didn't make it home until 5 and we were pretty excited to see him! He had such a good time hunting with guys from work and they ended up killing a lot of ducks.

I'm happy he had a good time, but I'm more happy that he is home with us!

Another picture we sent daddy while he was gone.
Wyatt saying cheese!

Ryan's passed out next to me while I'm watching The Wizard of Oz. It's a little after 9, but I feel the bed calling our name. A solid night's sleep is sounding pretty spectacular.

Santa Claus is coming soon. Can you believe that?! Yah, me either...

Christmas Parties

We had a church Christmas party a couple of weeks ago. I won the Ugly Sweater contest for the girls even though it was a hundred degrees!

We also had Ryan's work Christmas party. Here we are before.
This is one of my favorite pictures that we've taken to date.
It's so wild to me that Christmas is less than a week away and I'm not near finished shopping. Ooops...

O Christmas Tree

I'm feeling festive, and I don't think I posted a good picture of our tree.

This was by far the biggest tree we've picked out. Ryan claims it's our prettiest tree yet. I agree!

Christmas Lights

Wyatt loves the Christmas lights. Every time we go outside he tells us he wants them turned on.

He didn't have much appreciation for them last year, but this year he definitely enjoys them!

Visiting Santa

Today Wyatt went to visit Santa and let him know all about what he was expecting to receive from him this year. I mean, he has been a good boy all year, so why wouldn't all the things he want not be under the tree?

I pretty much knew this was the year that Wyatt would have the classic crying picture. He was a clinger and I told Ryan just to throw him up there and walk away. If we didn't, there wasn't going to be a picture...

Presenting Wyatt and Santa:

Needless to say Wyatt didn't have time to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Luckily, he has mommy and daddy to pass on the message.

Just for giggles, check out last years picture:
Where has my baby gone?!

Weekend recap

It's Sunday. The weekend is coming to an end. It's been a weird, emotional weekend. Friday, by now, you heard of the tragedy that occurred in CT. I had just gotten home from my doctors appointment and turned on the tv. I was immediately bombarded by the sheer horror of what had happened and I just wept. I wept for those poor babies whose lives were taken too early. I wept for the mommas and daddies who wouldn't have a baby to tuck into bed that night. I wept that sadly, this is the world I'm bringing another baby into. It's hard to fathom that someone would do that to the most innocent of people. Yet, I find comfort knowing they ARE in Heaven protected, safe, and in the arms of our creator. My baby was at school. Two hours from when I was due to pick him up. It felt like the longest two hours and I caught myself constantly checking the clock, wanting to go get him but I resisted since I knew it was nap time. I guess it gave me time to think, to pray, to reflect and I think I needed that. My heart still hurts for the families. I couldn't help but hug Wyatt a little tighter and give him extra kisses when I picked him up from school. It didn't hurt that it was Pajama Day at school and he was looking extra scrumptious!

That night we headed to Conway to eat at Fuji's for Pa's birthday. It was the first time we had ate there and it was good! Wyatt enjoyed watching them cook in front of us. We got home smelling terrible, but wasn't about to wake Wyatt to bathe him so we put our stinky boy to bed. After Ryan and I showered we felt a million times better, but felt a little bad that Wyatt's hair still probably smelled liked food. Then, I immediately said we just needed to be thankful we had a little boy sleeping peacefully in his bed, stinky or not.
Saturday, we got up and headed to buy a new recliner. We actually found one that we like here in town so we went ahead and got it. I don't think I realized how much we actually needed one until we got the new one home and set up and I was so comfortable sitting in it. It's kind of a battle between Ryan and I as to who gets to sit in it and so far I have won just about every time. I need the support. Ryan doesn't. I have gotten in trouble about 32 times though because I've drank and ate in the chair already. Oh, apparently I cannot close the darn thing right either? I've gotten tutorials. I didn't know Ryan would be so possessive over a recliner. Ha!

After Wyatt got up from his nap we headed to Little Rock to hit up the Toys 'R Us to get the last of Wyatt's presents. It was a mad house and luckily we only needed one thing from there. Afterwards we ate at The Purple Cow for the first time and my word their milkshakes are amazing. I'm thankful there isn't one close because as much as I like milkshakes I would be in serious trouble.

Wyatt was getting a little restless on the way home. We were about to be at our exit and Ryan reached back and Wyatt started holding his hand. I (out of jealousy Ryan says) reached back to see if he would hold  mine too and he immediately latched on. It was so precious. I grabbed my phone and the flash caught him off guard. You can see just how restless he looks.

But then, I asked him to say cheese and this is what I got:
So sweet.

Once Wyatt was in bed, we watched Beauty and the Beast. Yep, a 31 and 27 year old on a Saturday night watched a fairytale movie. I was so tired of seeing the news of the shooting so the first thing that I came across that was "happy" and I wanted to see what this movie. It had just started and Ryan said he had never seen it so we watched it. It was just as good as I remembered. It was always my favorite princess movie, because duh...Belle is a brunette. I can totally relate.

Today, we got up and around for church.

It was a sombre feeling. Every song we sang made me cry just remembering those little babies. It was just very emotional. We also learned a member of the church passed away while we were there. Please pray for this family.

I am about to head to a visitation for a friend's dad who passed away earlier this week. It's weighed heavy on my heart too, but as he put it "come celebrate my dad's life." I love that perspective. If you are reading this, please take the moment right now to pray for him as well. The days ahead and going to be terribly hard.

After that we are heading to Mimi and Pawpaw's. Wyatt's been asking for them and has been looking for his puppy. He found his collar and carried it around asking Puppy? Guess we better go get Marley since he's been gone all week.

It's been a long weekend in a way, but not long enough. I'm more thankful than ever for my husband, my baby, and all my family.
