This is our life...it's crazy, it's hectic, but most of all it's fun!

Happy Halloween!

From Violet, an Oompa Loompa, and Willy Wonka!
We had Trunk or Treat at our church last night, so we actually aren't doing anything tonight. Can't really complain, after making 3 costumes I'm feeling a little pooped.

But!

This was totally worth it:

Ahhh! So cute!!!

I absolutely adore family costumes...next year I will have 4 to do. Woo!!

Weekend recap

We went to Fall Fest with Nana and Pa Saturday morning. While riding this ride it died, mid-air. Yes, I about had a panic attack, but luckily it lowered and Pa got to go get you out. At least when it was going you were having a good time.

Saturday night we went to a church hayride. You loved it and being around the big kids. It was freezing cold, but worth it!

Today we had church and you were dressed like such a little man.

You nearly kill me with cuteness.

Dominating.

Today I took it upon myself to start Wyatt's costume. I was rockin' and rollin' and actually pretty proud of myself.
I am just a leeettle bit excited about seeing him dressed up in it! He will be so stinkin' cute I'm positive of it.

Have you guessed what's he going to be yet?
Yep, an Oompa Loompa.

Ahh!

And, I've also used my handy-dandy sewing skills to sew these buttons on the shirt I picked up today.

I know, I know. I could pretty much sell these in real life. I think Ryan was surprised I sewed them on all by myself.

Have you guess what I am going to be yet?

Violet Beauregarde, oh yes. I'm all nice and round like she is so I think it's perfect.

Ryan will be Willy Wonka. I think. Depends on how crafty I can get. Regardless he will be dressed up as one of the characters.

So while I dominated in the area of costumes, I also dominated in the kitchen...

So what if a few minutes before 8 I decided I needed homemade peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies...

When Ryan heard me banging around in the kitchen he asked what the heck I was doing and I replied with making some cookies. I am 100% positive I ticked him off. He gets annoyed with me easily, did I ever mention that? Well, he does. I do ridiculous stuff like this and he tells me this is the reason I'm fat.

I don't argue.

It was worth is because I have no doubt these were the best cookies from scratch I have made. I may have found a recipe that I really like!! Finally!!
Looking forward to the weekend and I hope you are too!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

Today, we took Wyatt to Schaefers Pumpkin Patch.
It's safe to say we will not be returning.
"Our" pumpkin patch (you know the one we went to once) closed this year and I was pretty sad about it. We were planning to go to a different one, but decided to go to the one that was closer to us. I regret that decision, but hey, we learned a lesson of which patch to avoid next year.

No offense to anyone who enjoys this pumpkin patch, I was just seriously disappointed in it.

Wyatt didn't seem to mind it so I guess that's what matters. He got to play on the playground and enjoyed the slide while we waited on the hayride .

When we got to the actual patch we booked it to the other side in "no man's land" to try and find us a big pumpkin.
We (Ryan) hauled that puppy all the way back and then we were on the search for Wyatt's perfect pumpkin.
He found it! Doesn't he look so proud?
Our family picture...our last pumpkin patch photo of a family of 3. So weird!

And here are our pumpkins- momma's big one, Wyatt's little orange one, and the green one with a broken stem for Claire. I think Wyatt did pretty good.

I am looking forward to next year at a much better patch with both my babies and hubby!!

I couldn't resist...this was last year.
First notice my little squishy 6 month old and second, those beautiful pumpkins. Both such a distant memory... Ha!

18 months old

A year and a half!

Woah.

I've officially started saying, "He's a year and a half." when people ask how old he is. It's a little bittersweet.

At 18 months you are:
-30 lbs
-Wear 24 month and 2T clothes
-Wear a size 8.5 shoe
-Size 5 diaper
-Words: 10 that I can think off the top of my head, but I would say close to if not more than 15
-You call most animals puppy, except cats and you call them Bobby after your cat
-You sign more, milk, and please. I believe "thank you" will be next.
-You signed "more please" for the first time this week
-You take one nap a day
-Sleep 11-12 a night without interupption
-Still take your paci, but it's about to be gone. I am hoping you let it go easily
-Still obsessed with the laundry
-Moved up to the 2 year old room at school
-Love to brush your teeth
-We packed up the high chair and you are now sitting at the table with us like a big kid.
-You are becoming such a little boy and not a baby!

Wyatt the past year and a half have been nothing less than amazing. I love being your mommy!!

DU Family Night

This week has been a somewhat lonely week for myself and Wyatt. Ryan had been working every night putting the finishing touches on the Arkansas River Valley Ducks Unlimited Family Night. It was the first time the chapter had put together a family oriented/kid friendly event and it turned out so good!

Ryan is the chairman this year so he was more stressed out than his normal just being on the committee. All of their hard work paid off because there was a great turn out and all the kids had a great time!

We are looking forward to the New Years banquet now...but not to being a single mom again!

Wyatt had fun too getting to run around, play baggo, picking ducks, and shot gun shells for his Pawpaw. It started at 5:30 and by 8:30 my little man was dunzo. It didn't help that he wanted to do what HE wanted the entire time which was to spin the wheel of fortune type wheel. His Mimi so nicely brought him home to bathe him and put him to bed shortly after it was clear he was done. Dad and I stayed for the raffles- my favorite part! Dad won a DU framed picture, 2 boxes of skeet, a half gallon flask and mug, and a canteen. I won a bag, box of skeet, sign, 2 DVDs, and... 2 guns!
Seriously. I was so excited!! We almost didn't win either! Ryan handed me the bags with the raffle tickets when Wyatt and I got there and never even mentioned the tiraffle tickets that were in there and at the very end dad asked me which bags were his and I looked through them and we noticed my two bags still had all out raffles in them. Ryan should have told me!! It clearly would have been his fault and not mine if I hadnt put them in there in time.

It was a fun night with great food! I am looking forward to next year too when Wyatt will hopefully be big enough to stay and "win" for us!!

Think I could enter him in some baggo tournaments?

Girly stuff

Girly stuff is starting to pop up here and there in the Davis household. Ryan kind of likes to turn a blind eye to it all. Im not 100% sure he has still come to terms with the fact that he is having a daughter and chances of her being just like me are pretty high. Ha!

We have picked out her bedding and I have even made a couple of bows.

I sorta kinda like Wyatt's 2-3 hour daily naps. I can actually get a lot done and I happened to make this bow holder for Claire during one of them.

I have also made her a onesie!
And yes, that's my baby bump at the bottom of the picture. It's starting to get in the way a little bit...

Chores

I've got a real big helper these days.

I just love having a little helper around the house. Other chores include his most favorite which is laundry.

I'm forever yours, faithfully.

Oh you thought I was going to be all mushy about how great my marriage is and how dedicated we are to each other. Well, I'm not. But, we most certainly are.

Last night we met the Townsends for dinner AND the Journey concert!! Wooo!!! Me and my lover:
We had great seats...much better than our Tom Petty. Ha!

Haley and I are die hard Journey fans. We've had many a late nights belting out some Don't Stop Believin' and we've probably shared late night tears over Faithfully but don't quite remember it.
It started with Loverboy which I think I knew 2 songs that he played and then Pat Benatar who I really like, but I seriously adore her now. She is just so fun on stage and I love the rasp in her voice. Plus, she has seemed to age quite well.

Then, then Journey came on and it was fabulous. It worked out great becaust it would be a fabulous song that we'd stand up and awkwardly sway/dance to and then I could rest for a song or two.

I had to take lots of potty breaks, thank you pregnancy, and I got back to my seat towards the end I heard the infamous tune starting- Don't Stop Believin' is sooo much better in person My favorites were Don't Stop Believin' and Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. Oh and Lights!

I had so much fun last night, but definitely paid for it today. We didn't get home until after midnight and for a pregnant girl that's the equivalent to about 3am.

Claire LOVED the concert too. Every time I sat down I felt her kicking away. Her loves her some Journey! Momma's raising her right!

My babies both went to concerts in the womb...Wyatt enjoyed him so George Strait so he will probably be my little country crooner like Daddy and Claire will follow in my steps and be a wild child! Ha!

Milestones: Hitting the half way mark and Ryan getting to feel her kick! Not so much a milestone, but I've started having heartburn again. Wah. Wah. Oh, we picked out Claire's bedding!! Yay!

My mommy instinct

Wyatt was having a hard time at school. Think meltdows when I dropped him off and wandering aimlessly when I picked him up. It was heartbreatking. I knew he wasn’t happy and it became more and more obvious as the weeks went on. Finally, he teachers dropped the bomb that he wasn’t as happy as he could be. (No crap…if only they had told me awhile back when I asked “how was his day” and all I got was a “good.”)I will leave my actual rant about that off the blog, but I ended up talking to the director the following day he was at school to figure out a plan. I confess, I had already called a different place to see if they had an opening just in case. I was that determined to find somewhere else for my little one so that maybe he would actually be happy. I was mostly concerned because Wyatt wasn’t this way with his old teachers during the summer and it just progressively became worse. Not okay. I was also informed that my kid played with one toy in the room he was in. One. That, too, was not okay. I think the biggest issue was that he was in a class with babies. He is one of the oldest in his class and clearly the biggest. When I spoke to the director I told her he was bored. He had nothing in common with the younger babies (by younger I mean 6 months and up). He had nothing to stimulate him at all. Our prayers over the 2 days since the bomb drop was answered because they had an opening in the next class up and a kid was absent that day so he could “test” it out.
Thank you, Lord.
He adjusted very well! He sat at the table in a little chair with the other kids who are I think up to a little over 2 for lunch and even napped on a mat just fine. He was in a crib in the other room, but did just fine with the floor mat. I picked him up and he was a different kid. His entire demeanor was different. It definitely made my heart smile.
When I dropped him off Tuesday he went right to playing. I put his stuff up and walked out of there without so much as a whimper. When I picked him up he was playing with other kids. This was exactly what he needed. His teacher told me he whined a little bit, mostly due to not getting to do something he wanted, but all in all he had another great day. He is officially moved up to the new class and we are so very, very thankful. I love his school, but if it wasn’t the right fit for Wyatt we would have moved him in a heartbeat. I’m so very happy that he gets to stay there and we have seemed to figure out the problem.
There were lots and lots of tears shed over this. A lot of them were due to being pregnant, because I honestly don’t think I would have been that ridiculous if I wasn’t with child. But man, when it comes to your kid you can’t help but become emotional…or a complete mama bear.

October's wreath

Remember when I said I was going to make a wreath for every month?
I'm still kind of working on it. The summer I definitely slacked, but I did find time to make an October wreath! I like it and I'm so ready for Halloween this year! I've got our costumes picked out and now it's just a matter of putting it all together!

2012 Trike Derby

Yesterday we got to attend Wyatt's first Trike Derby at his school!
It was so fun to watch him along with his little classmates.

It's these moments that make me so utterly thankful that I have the opportunity to attend "school" stuff. These are moments that I absolutely treasure. I am so thankful for a hard working husband that is able to provide for us in order for me and him to be involved with everything Wyatt is involved in.

I love this picture of Wyatt...
Don't you think he looks like a 50 year old man, chillin' on his motorcycle, probably cat callin' haha.

After the race the kiddos had a pit stop. All those laps around the track will make one thirsty!

Oh I am so in love with this little boy!!
