This is our life...it's crazy, it's hectic, but most of all it's fun!

We've Got a Crawler

I guess it’s fair to finally admit something that I’ve been thinking for a while now. My kid scares the crap out of me. I should also admit that this only happened recently…like a few weeks ago when he started trying to crawl…and now…now that we are crawling all over the house he finds ways to scare me.  Side note: He is crawling but not up completely on hands and knees with his belly off the floor- he’s a big boy…you try getting those little chubby, muscle-less arms and legs to carry that big body. We’ve just got a priceless floor cleaner. Anyway, this past weekend Wyatt was happily playing in his room when I decided to let him be and go wash dishes. Not 5 minutes, seriously if that, I turn to go back to his room and when I make it to the hall I scream and my heart drops to the floor. You would think I would say something horrific had happened to my sweet baby, but instead there he was in all his glory smiling up at me, proud of his accomplishment of crawling out of his room and down the hall to find his mommy. It was the weirdest thing seeing him there knowing I had left him somewhere else. I know he’s crawling and never where we leave him anymore, but to pop up in the hallway where it’s dark and I completely didn’t expect it made my heart hurt.

Another thing that seriously scares me is this pulling up business. I no longer have a baby people. I have a little human that resembles his father and shows absolutely no fear. This is not cool. I don’t think I can handle it…can someone please slow down time a little?

For my record, memory, baby book that is this blog: Wyatt is a crawler at 7.5 months.

33 weeks...I think.

Shall I confess?

I don’t know how old my kid is…

By this, I am referring to the number of weeks. I can remember when someone would ask, “How old is he?” I could immediately pop off the number of weeks old my little man was. Now? Now I instantly question how many weeks it has actually been in my head… Now I simply say x amount of months (7 months, 7.5, almost 8). I’m not really certain when that transition happened, but it has me wondering now how long I will refer to my child’s age by months? Am I going to be be saying, “Oh, he’s 17 months old?” That seems awkward… However, I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there.

If I didn’t have my ticker at the top of my blog with the amount of weeks old Wyatt is I would surely be confused all the time. At least I can be accurate with the amount of months. With that said, I do remember that Wyatt was born on a Tuesday and I will continue to take a weekly picture of him up until he is one. I feel like the first year is so monumental, and that’s not to say that each Tuesday after his first birthday isn’t important, but I’ve got to stop somewhere, right? It’s either that or I keep taking pictures of little boy until he starts his senior year of high school…

Black Friday

Do you know what I love most about Black Friday? If you guess the awesome "deals" out there, then you have lost your mind. It's that the real Christmas trees go on sale and I get to spend the day making it pretty...and fighting with my husband about whether or not the tree is straight. Oh married life...

It's Wyatt's first Christmas tree! Time to put all those presents that have been taking up space in the spare bedroom since this summer under the tree! Yay!

Date night

Last night was date night. Say what?!

Ryan and I had a date night with the Townsends. We went to dinner and then did what all other women, er tweens, were doing and went to see Breaking Dawn. Haley and I have watched every single Twilight movie together (with the last now 3 being with our husbands too). We met up with my friends Erin and Misty as well and settled in for a couple hours of drooling over so vampires. How old am I again?

The movie was good…the book, like usual, was better. I’m not going to lie… the part where she delivers the baby was a bit over the top. I could have definitely gone without seeing Edward smash her breast bone 786 times and then her blood changing or whatever as well as her dead limp body. It was a bit much, but whatev.

This isn’t what my post is about. Oh no. It’s about the CUTE 6 or so year old boy that was sitting directly behind us.

The BEST part of my evening was when they are having “relations” and the bed splits. No, sickos, not because I’m a pervert like that, but because while everyone in the theatre ooh and ahh’ed and giggled from awkwardness little Henry (as I’ve dubbed him) very loudly exclaims, “WHAT HAPPENED?”

His pure innocence had be crying from laughing so hard.

Other moments that had be shaking so hard from laughter was when it was dead silent in the theatre and little Henry let out a belch a grown man couldn’t compete with…Or when they kept making out and he asked, “Why do they keep doing that?” Or when she was drinking the blood and he asked, “What is that?”

He wanted to know everything. He wanted to comment on so much. His dad was so patient with him and I am so happy that we sat in front of them…it made the movie that much better.

Wyatt is soon going to be at that age where he speaks his mind and is curious about the world around him. He is going to ask questions. He is going to be annoying. He is going to be redundant. Where once I would have thought of little Henry as that annoying kid who ruins my tween movie, I now see him as absolute preciousness who made a movie more funny than I had expected. I know that our day is coming when Wyatt will be extremely annoying to some people, heck probably even to me. However, I hope to always be patient, amused, and willing to laugh at all his ridiculousness. Did I ever tell you that children are the best? If not, they are. My baby, the soon-to-be Henry, brings a love and joy to me that I didn’t know was possible.

26th Birthday

This exact weekend last year I was turning 25. My birthday fell on a Friday and what made it more special was we found out I was having a sweet baby boy. Talk about a great birthday gift! We had a gender reveal party and shared our exciting news with our family and closest friends. They all picked either a pink or blue card depending on what they thought we were having. One envelope shared what the baby was and my best friend Erin held the actual card that said BOY! It was such a fun evening that I clearly will never forget.
Fast forward one year later and here we are with a 7.5 month old baby. Friday was a tough day with Wyatt. (Let's be honest, some days at home with a baby are just hard.)  His little gums were bothering him and he just wasn't having a good day. Nothing made him happy and he just wanted to be held gnawing on things. I even rocked him to sleep. (This is how I know that he's feeling crummy.) I was having one of those days myself. I'm not sure what it is. I should confess that momma is no longer on birth control and yes, we are working on baby number 2. Therefore, I like to think my hormones are a little out of whack. That's legit, right? Yah, I think so too. Well, my day just wouldn't get better, but there was a silver lining to the day. My parents stopped by for a quick visit and like always jokingly offered to take the baby home. Much to their surprise I'm sure, I began packing Wyatt a bag. Yes, I felt terrible, but I also know that for my sanity, I needed that break. Plus, what grandparent doesn't love having a grandbaby stay the night!? After Wyatt left we got wild and crazy. When baby's away mommy and daddy will play!!! By play, I mean we went to Sonic for a Diet Dr. Pepper and cheese sticks and to vacuum out my vehicle. We seriously go all out now days. Go on, be jealous.

Saturday, my actual birthday, I bid farewell to Ryan since it was opening day of duck season at something like 2 o'clock in the morning. I've got a love/hate with duck season, but that is neither here nor there. I went right back to sleep until 7 when I was wide awake. The plan for "sleeping in" quickly went out the door. I got around, read my very sweet cards from Bunney and Wyatt, and was out the door headed to mom's by 8:30. I spent the morning hanging out with Wyatt until Ryan came over around noonish. We then left from there and headed to Conway for some Outback and shopping. It was a very fun afternoon and we ended up coming back to mom's where I was the major source of entertainment. Jager and Redbull may or may not have been involved. It seems I married my brother and his girlfriend Misty somewhere in the process...It was such a fun night!

Today, we have hung out at the house. I took on the daunting task of washing all of Wyatt's toys. That my friends, is not so fun, but I luuurve the Palmolive baby wash. Hate the normal kind, but love this one.

And, want to know how old I really am?

I ask for a vacuum cleaner for my birthday.
Ask and you shall receive.

I also asked for a paper shredder which my dear mother got me.

When did I become a 70 year old woman?

Look what little Wyatt got me...some new Toms! At least he's hip.
My sweet MIL got me a new curling iron and I got some moolah from Papaw, my FIL, and daddy. I made out like a bandit this year. Ha!

I am now 26 and 1 day old. I am that much closer to 30 and you know? I'm a-ok with that.

Now, how was your weekend?!

Birchbox 3

This month I got perfume, Anastasia lip gloss, chocolate, whitening toothpaste, and fingernail polish.

Let's see, I love the perfume and I really, really love the lip gloss. I am considering buying the big tube...but I'm debating $21 lip gloss. eek! haha...the chocolate was disgusting. The toothpaste pretty much makes my mouth numb and I can't wait to paint my nails...I shall show it once it's on my nails. Hopefully. Ha!

Now I get it

High chairs have the potential to be just about the most disgusting thing ever.

I now get why some people's least favorite task is to clean up that dreaded chair.
Yet, those cute little babies that use said chair makes it all worth it.

Wyatt is a clean eater with his spoon. But today we let him eat real apples and green beans...

This is real apple juice folks.
He absolutely loves to feed himself. I do too, actually, considering I can put food down for him and cook dinner. I'm telling you, I have a serious love/hate with this growing up stuff.

That's apple and not a gigantic booger.
You can imagine the high chair...thank goodness for those little pouches on his bibs!
He thoroughly enjoyed his apples and green beans tonight!

And he went from laying on his belly to the sitting position all by himself. Yay!

Picture dump

Just getting pictures off my phone and on to here so I'll have them in my book...

Because it's funny...The "right way"...I love how Sarah is spelt...Sarha

Deer hunting trip with Bunney:

I took Wyatt to visit daddy at work...they matched in the MPW shirts completely by accident since I didn't see what daddy was wearing when he left the house.

 Wore out from Mimi's house!

Love this little eye peeking at me!
Wyatt's message to daddy about hunting!
First time swinging!

Because today I want to remember...

That I (for the first time) was able to get you to sleep on my shoulder during church...therefore, mommy got to actually pay attention during the sermon! You've yet to visit the church nursery...what can I say? I'm stingy with my heart. But, I do have to admit there is nothing sweeter than having a little sleeping head on your shoulder and getting to hear a great message.

Also, today I want to remember the sweet little nap that we took together. I know these days are far and few and I will take every opportunity that I can.

I treasure these sweet little moments and will be so happy that I have them to look back on...

Couples Shower for the Townsends

Today we honored my best friends Jay and Haley in welcoming sweet baby Payton.
This is their first baby and they are in for the time of their lives!

Here are the pictures from the shower. I was in charge of decorations so it was a labor of love. Ha! Just kidding...I thoroughly enjoyed making stuff for the shower.

Here is Haley with the hostesses...minus Allison.
Here is the loot that Miss Payton will have waiting on her!
This is a picture of my closest high school friends...Susan (preggo with Emma), Jade, Lakin with Tinley, me with a grumpy Wyatt, Erin with Ridge, Amber (preggo with Reese), and Haley with Payton.
It's crazy to me that almost all of us have babies. When did we turn into adults?

And here we are with Bunney. Much thanks to him for helping me set up the heavy stuff.

I wish I had gotten pictures during the shower, but I was in charge of the gift list. She had a great turn out and it was wonderful seeing all our friends together!
